May 8 — Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II

May 8 — Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II

This day entered human history as a symbol of the triumph of justice over barbarism, courage over fear, and humanity over evil.
The victory achieved 80 years ago came at an enormous cost: millions of lives lost, cities reduced to rubble, and countless fates broken. Ukrainian soil witnessed some of the fiercest battles of that war. Eight million Ukrainians gave their lives to help liberate the world from the darkness of fascism.

We bow our heads in deep sorrow. For us, remembrance is not only a tribute to the past — it is a moral compass for the present.

Today, Ukraine once again endures the tragedy of war. Russia’s aggression — its lies and cruelty — remind the world that evil can return, wearing new colors but bearing the same essence.
Just like then, the enemy targets civilians, destroys cities and lives, and seeks to erase our identity.

But, as in 1945, we are not alone. Standing with Ukraine are the nations of the free world — those who understand the true value of freedom and dignity.

We are deeply grateful to our warriors — strong, courageous, and unbreakable. They hold the line. The Ukrainian defender has become a modern embodiment of heroism and honor for the entire civilized world.

We believe the day will come when peace returns to Ukrainian land. And, just as it did 80 years ago, truth and goodness will prevail once more.

Freedom has the face of a warrior.
Victory speaks with a Ukrainian voice.

Glory to Ukraine!
Eternal memory to the fallen.
Honor and glory to our defenders!

National Anthem Day of Ukraine: A Symbol of Struggle and Resilience

On March 10, Ukraine celebrates National Anthem Day—one of the key symbols of our statehood. This song was first performed in 1863, and by 1865, it was already being played at official events. On March 10, 1865, a choir in Przemyśl performed it for the first time during a commemoration of Taras Shevchenko. The lyrics were written by Pavlo Chubynsky, while the music was composed by Mykhailo Verbytsky.

The anthem has accompanied the Ukrainian people throughout their long struggle for independence. At various times, it was banned and attempts were made to erase it from memory, yet it continued to live in the hearts of Ukrainians, inspiring them to fight. Its words echoed during past liberation struggles and continue to strengthen the spirit of our defenders today, as Ukraine once again fights for its freedom.

Today, our anthem resounds even more powerfully—on the frontlines, in the hearts of millions of Ukrainians, and on international stages. It unites us and serves as a reminder: we are strong, we are unbreakable, and victory will undoubtedly be ours! 🇺🇦 Glory to Ukraine!

The Day of Remembrance of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred

Dear colleagues and friends,

Today, on February 20th, we honor the memory of the Heroes of the Nebesnoi Sotni (Heavenly Hundred) – those who gave their lives for Ukraine’s freedom and dignity. They became a symbol of our nation’s resilience, reminding us all that justice and independence must be fought for.

Our struggle continues. For more than 10 years, Ukrainians have been forced to defend their right to a peaceful future, resisting brutal russian aggression. Our soldiers, volunteers, medics, scientists – everyone in their place is bringing our Victory closer.

Despite all the challenges, we know: Ukraine will stand, Ukraine will prevail. Light always triumphs over darkness, and truth defeats lies. The day when our flag proudly flies over every Ukrainian city will surely come.

Eternal memory to the fallen. Honor and glory to the living heroes!

Heroes never die!
