Conference on the Occasion of the 10th Anniversary of Switzerland’s Support to Ukraine’s Dairy Sector

On 16 October 2025, a conference marking the 10th anniversary of Switzerland’s support to Ukraine’s dairy sector was held in Kyiv. The event brought together representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine, as well as international organisations, business associations and research institution. The State Scientific Research Control Institute of Veterinary Medicinal Products and Feed Additives (SCIVP) was represented by Dr Ruslan Pelenyo, Deputy Director for Educational and Organisational Affairs, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor.

During the conference, participants discussed the main directions for the further development of Ukraine’s dairy sector, including:

  • the outcomes of cooperation between Ukraine and Switzerland in the field of dairy product safety;
  • the prospects for the European integration of the dairy industry;
  • the role of service providers and scientific institutions in strengthening the competitiveness of the sector;
  • the promotion of exports and the participation of Ukrainian producers in international initiatives.

A key moment of the event was the award ceremony for the winners of the Service Providers Competition organised within the framework of the Swiss-Ukrainian Programme “Higher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sectors in Ukraine” (QFTP). Following the evaluation of project proposals, the SCIVP was recognised as a winner in the category “Dissemination of Best Practices, Awareness Raising, and Development of Skills and Knowledge in the Dairy Sector.”

The Institute extends its sincere appreciation to the management and team of the QFTP Programme for their trust and continued support, which contribute to the sustainable development of Ukraine’s dairy sector and its progressive integration into the European market.
