On June 3–6, 2025, the International Symposium TRACES 2025 (International Symposium on Residues of Pharmacologically Active Substances in Food, Feed and Environment, within the One Health Concept) was held in Ghent, Belgium, at the NH Ghent Belfort hotel. The event brought together two renowned scientific conferences — The International Symposium on Hormone and Veterinary Drug Residue Analysis (VDRA) and EuroResidue — launching a new phase of interdisciplinary collaboration under the One Health concept.
The TRACES symposium builds on a long-standing tradition. Since 1990, the EuroResidue conferences have addressed a wide range of issues related to residue monitoring in food, feed, and other matrices, while VDRA, organized by the Faculties of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Veterinary Medicine at Ghent University (UGent) together with the Institute for Agricultural, Fisheries and Food Research (ILVO), has focused on hormone and veterinary drug residue analysis since 1988.
Ukrainian researchers have consistently contributed to this expert forum:
- Dr. Dmytro Yanovych,
- PhD in Biology Zvenyslava Zasadna,
- PhD in Biology Svitlana Melikyan,
- PhD in Chemistry Maryana Rydchuk
researchers of the National Reference Laboratory for Residue Control of Veterinary Drugs and Feed Additives at the State Scientific Research Control Institute of Veterinary Medicinal Products and Feed Additives (SCIVP) — presented their scientific findings, continuing the institute’s tradition of active participation in this international academic community.
