Yurii Kosenko Participates in WOAH Regional Seminar in Tbilisi

From 20 to 22 October 2026, the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) held a regional seminar in Tbilisi, Georgia, dedicated to strengthening regulatory systems for veterinary medicinal products.

Ukraine was represented at the seminar by Oleh Osiyan, First Deputy Head of the State Production and Consumer Service of Ukraine, and Yurii Kosenko, Deputy Director for International Cooperation and European Scientific Integration at the State Scientific-Research Control Institute of Veterinary Medicinal Products and Feed Additives.

During the seminar, participants were introduced to the Veterinary Medicines Regulatory Agency Self-Assessment Tool (VMRA-SAT), which enables national authorities to assess their regulatory systems, identify gaps, establish priorities and determine areas for improvement.

Particular attention was also given to WOAH’s efforts to combat the circulation of substandard and falsified veterinary products (SFVPs) and to the implementation of the TRUVET platform. Representatives of participating countries learned how the system operates, had the opportunity to complete baseline reporting, and practised submitting incident reports through TRUVET.

Participation in such events facilitates the exchange of international experience, supports the improvement of Ukraine’s national regulatory system for veterinary medicinal products, and contributes to its further alignment with European and international standards.
