Scientists of the State Scientific-Research Control Institute Participated in the 16th Congress of the European Association for Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology

The 16th Congress of the European Association for Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology (EAVPT) was held from 28 June to 1 July 2026 in Thessaloniki, Hellenic Republic. The Congress brought together leading scientists, experts, representatives of academic institutions, regulatory authorities, and the veterinary industry from around the world to discuss current challenges, recent scientific advances, and future prospects in veterinary medicine.

Representatives of the State Scientific-Research Control Institute of Veterinary Medicinal Products and Feed Additives took part in the Congress, including Yurii Kosenko, Deputy Director for International Cooperation and European Scientific Integration; Dmytro Yanovych, Head of the Research Department of Physicochemical Methods for the Control of Veterinary Medicinal Products, Feed Additives and Biocides; Mariana Rydchuk, Head of the Laboratory of Analytical Studies of Veterinary Medicinal Product Residues and Contaminants; and Serhii Plotytsia, Senior Research Scientist at the Laboratory.

The Institute’s scientists presented two poster presentations: “Development of a UPC-MS/MS Method for the Determination of Nitrosamine Contamination in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Finished Dosage Forms for Comprehensive Assessment of the Safety of Veterinary Medicinal Products and Risks Associated with the Manufacturing Process” and “Trends in the Use of Veterinary Antimicrobial Products in Ukraine during Peacetime and under Martial Law.”

During the scientific discussions, the Institute’s representatives placed particular emphasis on the impact of the full-scale war launched by the Russian Federation against Ukraine on the functioning of the veterinary medicine system, animal welfare, ensuring epizootic safety, and effective regulation and control of the use of veterinary medicinal products under martial law.

Participation in the 16th EAVPT Congress was an important component of the Institute’s international scientific cooperation, strengthening professional links with the European scientific community and promoting the achievements of Ukrainian veterinary science at the international level.
