Yanovych Dmytro Vadymovych Laboratory chief, doctor of Agricultural Sciences тел. (032) 252-31-52  e-mail: yandmyt@scivp.lviv.ua Currently laboratory provides important control functions of Institute as at the stages of new home veterinary medicinal products development as at the process of their registration and production. At the first stage of new home veterinary medicinal products development laboratory coordinates methods with producer aiming at quality control. At the process of registration of home and foreign medicinal products collaborators conduct complex of analytical tests aiming at their quality inspection. Functions of laboratory:
  • Development, modification, validation and implementation of methods in the sphere of quality control of veterinary medicinal products and feed additives with the application of physicochemical analysis methods.
  • Development, modification, validation and implementation of determination methods of veterinary medicinal product residues (antibiotics, sulfanilamides, anti-inflammatory medicinal products, hormonal stimulators) and polluters (mycotoxins, toxic elements, pesticides) in feeds and products of animal origin (meat, milk, honey, eggs etc.).
  • Training of experts from control and production veterinary laboratories on the basis of new methods developed by laboratory.
  • Scientific tests in the sphere of biochemistry of farming animals and veterinary toxicology; certain stages of scientific programmes of Institute that require application of complicated analytical test methods: spectrometric (mass, infra-red, ultraviolet and atomic absorptive spectrometry, fluorimetry); radiological; radioimmune, immune fermentive; chromatographic.
  • Laboratory belongs to reference laboratory on residue control of veterinary medicinal products and feed additives, provides scientific methodic maintenance of all directions in the sphere of control concerning the contents of residues of pharmacological substances of veterinary medicinal products in products of animal origin (milk, meat, eggs, honey, aquaculture etc), forbidden pharmacological medicinal products and their metabolites and also polluters and forbidden medicinal products (hormones and antibiotics – growth stimulators) in feed additives, premixtures and feeds.
  • Laboratory belongs to Trial Center of State Scientific Research Control Institute of Veterinary Medicinal Products and Feed Additives accredited by National Academy of Agrarian Sciences on conducting of laboratory tests according to requirements of DSTU ISO/IEC 17025-2001.
Collaborators of laboratory by proxy of State Committee of Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine conduct analysis of export batches of home products of animal origin. Experience as the result of conducting of more than 5000 analysis for 2002-2009 is taken as developments of new methods and preparation of normative documentation concerning their implementation, these are 38 screening methods for control of basic groups of veterinary medicinal products (antibiotics, sulfanilamides, mycotoxins, forbidden medicinal products, hormones and hormonal growth stimulators). Basic developments of laboratory:
  • Complex quality control system of veterinary medicinal products on the basis of combination of physicochemical methods and modern information support of analysis processes and processing and storage of received results.
  • Modification of 250 and development of 20 methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis. According to the results of development, improvement and validation of methods of immune fermentive and chromatographic analysis in the sphere of determination of residual quantities of veterinary medicinal products of animal origin laboratory confirms and implement 45 methods on determination:

Hormones – testosterone, 17 β-estradiol, clenbuterol, diethylstilboestrolum, zeranol, medroxyprogesterone, acetyl gestagen

Antimicrobial substances – chloramphenicol, furazolidone, furaltadon, furadonine, tetracycline, streptocide, sulfaguanidine, sulfadiazine, sulfathiazole, sulfamerazine, sulfamethazine, sulfamethoxypyridazine, sulphamethoxazole, sulfadimethoxine, benzylpenicillin, amoxicillin, ampicillin, cloxacillin, streptomicine

Mycotoxins – aflatoxins, aflatoxin B1, fumonizines, toxin T-2, deoxynivalenol, aflatoxin M1, ochratoxin A, zearalenone

Antiparasitic medicinal products – ivermectine, phenbendazole.
Collaborators of laboratory developed control methods of medicinal products belonging to fluoroquinolones, vitamin mineral medicinal products and premixtures, solvent for vaccines against Marek’s disease. Computer data base of control methods of veterinary medicinal products is implemented. Experts from control laboratories of enterprises and region laboratories undergo training on the basis of proposed methods.
